Hello! My name is Alicelyn Hudson. I am the broker and owner of The Real Estate Market, Inc. I started selling real estate in Greenville, S.C. in 1988. My husband, Ames, and I moved home to Destin in 1993 and both have started our own businesses. (He is the owner of Hudson Homes, Inc. and builds custom homes throughout Destin and Sandestin).

Growing up in Brewton, Alabama, I have been coming to Destin since I was a child. When I was at the University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE!), I spent the summers in Destin and worked renting condominiums at Sandpiper Cove---They were brand new then! There was no where to buy groceries in Destin at that time. You had to go to Fort Walton to do your shopping. I can remember people asking me about Sandestin and me thinking "what a long drive".

Well, obviously things have changed a lot in Destin since that time. Not only do we have the most beautiful beaches in the world, Destin has become a golf mecca. With world renowned golf courses, you can play a different course everyday! And the food....whether you want to pay $100.00 per person for a 5 star experience or if you want a simple night of family seafood, you are sure to find the perfect spot for your tastes de jour.

People often come to me and say, "Alicelyn, I want you to find me a deal!" I sincerely believe that a real estate purchase in Destin is "a deal". Things are not selling for the same prices they did in 1980 or 1990 or 2000 for that matter. But when you buy, the next group of visitors to Destin will wish they had bought when you did.

I am a little partial to this area. I have always had Destin's "sand in my shoes". But I feel like when you experience Destin, it won't be long before you'll be making this one of your homes, too.
